Shivnarine Chanderpaul was born on 16th August in 1974. He is a former Guyanese player and former captain of the West Indies cricket team.

1.) Shivnarine Chanderpaul is the first Indo-Caribbean to play 100 Tests for the West Indies and captained them in 14 Tests and 16 One Day Internationals (ODI’s).
2.) Chanderpaul was famous for his unorthodox batting stance along with his great batting skills. The stance was described as crab-like.
3.) Chanderpaul’s highest Test score in an innings is 203 not out. He made this score twice, first against South Africa at Georgetown in 2005 and then against Bangladesh at Dhaka in 2012.
4.) In 2003, Chanderpaul scored a Test match hundred in just 69 balls against Australia at Georgetown. Currently it’s the 6th fastest hundred in Test cricket history.
5.) During a Test match played between West Indies and Australia at Jamaica in 2008, he got struck at the back of his helmet by the fast ball bowled by Brett Lee. He collapsed on the pitch, remained motionless for a few minutes and recovered quickly and finally scored 118 runs in that innings.
6.) He holds the record of most unbeaten centuries in Test cricket (18).
7.) England batsman Graham Thorpe and Sri Lankan batsman Aravinda de Silva were his first Test and ODI wicket victim respectively. He picked up 9 Test and 14 ODI wickets in International cricket.
