On 11th September 2007, West Indies opener Chris Gayle scored his first T20 International century in the ICC World T20 2007 against South Africa at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.

He also became the first batsman in T20I history to achieve this feat.

He brought up his half-century from 26 balls and century off just 51 balls. His final score read : 117 runs (57 balls, 10 sixes & 7 fours)
